Invierno Porteño (Winter) by Astor Piazzolla was performed live at W.O. Smith in October 2022 by ALIAS musicians violinist Christina McGann, cellist Sari Reist, and pianist Alessandra Volpi.

Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) was an Argentine composer, bandoneon player, and arranger. His works revolutionized the traditional tango into a new style termed *nuevo tango*. "Invierno Porteño" is one of four tangos from the *Four Seasons of Buenos Aires*, influenced by Vivaldi’s *Four Seasons*. Piazzolla initially composed *Summer* as a stand-alone piece, gradually adding the other seasons over five years.
